The Nintendo Switch 2 is Finally Revealed
The Day Has Come!!

The Nintendo switch 2 was Officially announced today!! The long awaited sequel to the popular console was unveiled during today’s Nintendo direct along with games that included upgrades, ports and remasters of some notable RPGs. The original console has reputation of being a treasure chest of JRPGs in the video game community. lets look at what it has to offer for this new generation.
Gaining New Ground Or Victory Lap?
One of the biggest things people have wished for in a successor to the Nintendo Switch was more power and better graphics. I’m happy to say that wish has been granted with the Switch 2 boasting 1080p in hand held mode and an impressive 4k resolution while docked. All of this is accompanied by 120 fps,VRR and HDR support. The screen size has also grown to a surprising 7.9 inches compared to the 6.2 inches of the original switch.
The controls have remained virtually the same, but with a few new twists. For one, the joy-cons now connect magnetically which should reduce the wear and tear factor that arises from constantly removing and reattaching them as many of us did with the previous console and they have added some new features. The new Joy Cons have the ability to be held sideways and dragged across the table like a computer mouse. this seems like a minor addition but my mind is racing just imaging all the first person, isometric and point and click RPGs that will be available with this new control option.

Another new feature touted by this new hardware is the C button, which will function as a chat button. This will allow you to share your screen and talk to your friends while playing together, even if you are all playing different games. The button will also work in tandem with a new attachable USB camera (sold separately) to share a your image like a video meeting. you can even use your game screen as the background of the call.
Backwards 2 the Future
The Switch 2 also has a lot of features that will make players coming from the previous console happy. One such feature is backwards compatibility. The Switch 2 games are the same size and shape as the switch 1 games but their color will be red instead of black. The Backwards compatibility also extends itself to digital games as well. So For those of us that have massed huge collections of JRPGs,promising hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of game play you still have time to whittle down your backlog without having to keep multiple consoles connected to your TV.

Some of the games will have Upgrade Packs available. These will allow you to play an enhanced Switch 2 version of a game you already own. PlayStation famously did something similar with their PS4 and PS5 games. For a lesser fee than buying an all new version of the game, you can upgrade and potentially get enhanced graphics, frame rates, overall performance and even new features
The Zelda Games Breath of the Wild and Tears of The Kingdom will both have upgrade packs available at launch. These games will feature faster load times, better frame rates, HDR support and better resolution. There is also support for Zelda Notes which is a service just for these games that will be provided by the Nintendo switch app.

The Switch 2 set to be released on June 5th, 2025. It is priced at $449 for the base console and $499 for the Console bundled with Mario Kart world. This is a big jump from the $299 price tag of the original switch. there are multiple ways of getting one.
