The Road To Midgar: How Do You Get FF7R Intergrade??

You see the awesome new DLC for Final Fantasy VII Remake (FF7R) and you want to get into the action. The only problem is the somewhat confusing instructions for joining the ranks in Midgar on the PS5.

It’s not entirely straightforward and depending on your situation the instructions are different, but don’t worry. This mini-guide will help you decide what to do and have twirling, squatting and limit breaking in no time.

Identifying The Target

First let’s try to make a clear definition Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade . Intergrade
is the name of the PS5 version of FF7R with all of the enhancements.

Enhancements such as improved graphics, loading times and new features like graphics, performance and photo mode. Intergrade aslo has a new DLC called Intermission. This is the Yuffie DLC that is brand new content for the the game.

It’s important to make that distinction because it is possible to get Intergrade but not the Yuffie DLC. Hopefully this mini guide will help you make a decision and understand the differences.

Scenario One

You're brand new to FF7R and have a PS5

This is the easiest and seemingly most ideal scenario. All you have to do is buy FF7R intergrade for PS5. It comes with the Yuffie DLC included and you get all the benefits of the power of Playstation driving your graphics. In short, your game looks great and you get the DLC

Scenario Two

You have the physical or paid digital PS4 version of FF7R and a PS5

This is a little more complicated, but it’s not too bad. If you have the physical version of the game, install it on your PS5. Then go to the three dots next to play game and choose View Product.

Next go to the three dots next to wishlist and choose ” FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE upgrade for PS4 version owners” then choose “Free” at the next screen. After this, you will still need to pay for and download the Yuffie DLC

Your screen will have Free written here. My screen says Learn More because Installed the PS5 version already.

Scenario Three

You have the free PSN version of FF7R and a PS5

Here we have some information that I feel was overlooked and I believe is causing confusion. You can not get the free upgrade of FF7R with this version of the game. Also you will need to buy the Yuffie DLC separately. This version of the game was mainly just a gift to PS4 owners. Bit if you buy the upgrade and the dlc, This will still be cheaper than having to buy the PS5 version of Intergrade.

Scenario Four

You have a PS4 but not a PS5

In this case you would not be able to play Intergrade or the Yuffie DLC. Sorry to be the one to tell you this but it’s better you find our now instead of accidentally buying some version of FF7R and being disappointed.

Choose Your Own Adventure

I hope this helped you make sense of what you need to do to play FF7R Intergrade. It was a little confusing for me also and a lot of the information available seemed to assume that you already know everything about all the game versions and menu options. I made the choice of getting the physical PS5 version of Intergrade even though I have it physically on PS4. There is no advantage to that, I just wanted it for my collection.

There is no real right or wrong way to go about getting this game. There will be more situations than the 4 laid out here but I just hope this gives you a better idea of your options. Whatever you decide is going to be best for you, I hope you enjoy the game. I loved the original and you can check out my thoughts of it here.

What version did you end up getting? Did you pick it up at all? Thanks for reading and comment down below.
